IWCA Global board, staff, and supporters, with representatives from the IWCA Colombia Chapter at the IWCA Chapter Forum in New Orleans, Louisana.

The International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) is pleased to announce Colombia is the newest chapter to join the organization’s global network. Now representing 28 countries, IWCA Chapters are self-driven organizations, focused on the unique needs of their communities and are globally united by the shared mission to empower women across the global coffee industry.

The work to establish the Colombian chapter began in 2018 and culminated at the IWCA Chapter Forum in New Orleans on October 2, 2021, where two members of their newly elected board, Vice President, Ana Maria Donneys and Secretary,  Lina Maria Granados joined IWCA Executive Director, Dr. Sarada Krishnan, to sign the Memorandum of Understanding establishing Colombia as an official chapter.

Dr. Sarada Krishnan, IWCA Executive Director, is excited about the growth of the organization saying “It is a great pleasure to welcome IWCA Colombia to our global chapter network. We look forward to supporting their work to bring about change for women in the Colombian coffee industry to establish more equitable and sustainable livelihoods.”
