Panel Highlight – Amsterdam Coffee Festival WOMEN IN COFFEE: DRIVING CHANGE AND INNOVATION

A 5THWAVE Podcast Panel at the Amsterdam Coffee Festival
Saturday, April 13 | 12:00 PM | The Lab Stage

As the global coffee industry continues to evolve, one powerful truth stands out: when women lead, the entire value chain benefits. This year, the Amsterdam Coffee Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary with a bold lineup of panels and events—and IWCA is proud to be part of the conversation.

We're thrilled to share that Anke Erichsen, Global Board Member of the International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA), will be speaking on a featured panel hosted by The 5THWAVE Podcast:
“Women in Coffee: Driving Change and Innovation.”

This dynamic conversation will spotlight the critical role women play across the coffee industry—from producers at origin to roasters, educators, and entrepreneurs. Together, panelists will explore the challenges women continue to face, the innovation they are driving, and the future of gender inclusivity in coffee.

Featured Panelists:

  • Anke Erichsen – IWCA Global Board Member and coffee marketing specialist

  • Bregje Deben – Co-owner, De Koffieschool

  • Annelise Scholl – Founder, Grounds Coffees

  • Dagmar Geerlings – Founder, Dagger Coffee

Moderated by:

Jeffrey Young, Founder of The Allegra Group and host of the 5THWAVE Podcast

Whether you work in coffee, support sustainable business, or simply love a good brew, this panel is an opportunity to be part of the change. The discussion will go beyond representation to explore tangible ways to support gender equity across the coffee sector.

Why it Matters:

IWCA believes that investing in women leads to stronger communities, resilient supply chains, and a more sustainable future for coffee. This panel brings together powerful voices who are not just participating in coffee’s future—they are shaping it.

We invite all coffee professionals and supporters to join us at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 13, at The Lab Stage during the Amsterdam Coffee Festival.
