A message of encouragement from IWCA México

A message to All Women in Coffee in México, and across the world, to this contingency:
Our Women's Alliance in Coffee in México is still very young, although in these three years, we have managed to weave networks of support to promote the visibility of our work throughout the production chain.
This contingency takes us all off guard, with few resources and uncertainty; we can feel that we are clouded by perspectives, yet we must trust our purpose and the collective we have built. We are all exposed to the health, economic and social risks that this contingency represents; however, we women also face the deepening inequalities of this emergency, both because of the gap that already exists in income and access to health and education, and because of the concentration of care work that falls on us. As a society, we believe that all the measures we take, individually and collectively, must be designed with a gender perspective and with our participation, so that the impact does not also represent a setback on a ground already conquered.

Un mensaje a Todas las Mujeres en Café de México, y del mundo de café, ante esta contingencia.
Nuestra Alianza de Mujeres en Café de México es todavía muy joven, aún así en estos tres años, hemos logrado tejer redes de apoyo para promover principalmente la visibilización de nuestro trabajo en toda la cadena productiva. Esta contingencia nos toma desprevenidas a todas, con pocos recursos e incertidumbre; podemos sentir que nos nubla las perspectivas, sin embargo, debemos confiar en nuestro propósito y en la colectividad que hemos construido. Todos estamos expuestos a los riesgos de salud, económicos y sociales que esta contingencia representa; sin embargo, las mujeres nos enfrentamos además a que las desigualdades se profundicen en esta emergencia, tanto por la brecha ya existente en los ingresos y en el acceso a la salud y la educación, como por la concentración de las labores de cuidado que recae en nosotras. Como sociedad, consideramos que todas las medidas que adoptemos, en lo individual y en lo colectivo, deben ser diseñadas con perspectiva de género y con nuestra participación, para que el impacto no represente también un retroceso en un terreno ya conquistado.
